The Ratsey & Lapthorn Story, very numerous colour photo illustrations (many double-page), historic b&w (or rather sepia-toned – see below) photo illustrations, colour reproductions of paintings, notes, 160 pp, navy-blue boards in d/w, slight scratch and abrasion to rear of d/w, otherwise in very good condition, Ratsey & Lapthorn Ltd (Cowes, Isle of Wight) 1998
33.9 x 23 cm, 1540g, ISBN 0 95346 030 4
Despite the book’s ‘coffee-table’ size and appearance, and its unprepossessing title, this is a serious history of the sailmakers for most of the world’s large yachts in the 20th century. Having said that, the photographs are stunning . . .
See below the description from the dustwrapper flap.
There is no mention of the book at all on the Ratsey & Lapthorn website, so we take it the book is out of print. Yet another book where American booksellers ask ridiculous prices.
Beware – this is a large and heavy book and would cost a good deal to send abroad. If you are outside the U.K. and are thinking about buying it, please email us first on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will quote a price for postage.
