The D-Day Village That Went to War, illustrations from b&w photographs, reproductions of documents, map and ground-plans of Southwick House, 68 pp, stapled pamphlet, front cover marked where label removed (see picture), otherwise in very good condition, Willowbridge (Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire) 1984

23.5 x 14.6 cm, 120g, ISBN 0 95091 043 0

A small village at the foot of Portsdown Hill, to the north of Portsmouth.  Southwick House (see picture below), now part of HM Shore-station ‘Dryad’, was requisitioned by the military and became the planning headquarters for the D-Day landings.

The pamphlet is an extract from the author’s book “Secretive Southwick – Domesday to D-Day”, also published in 1984, but now out of print and very scarce.
