The successful attack in March 1942 on the only dry dock in France capable of repairing Germany’s major warships has gone down in history as one of the most audacious military attacks of all time.  The dock could not be used for the rest of the war.  The author was one of the commandos who blew up the pumping-station at the dock, and this is the first published account by an eye-witness participant in the raid.
