No. 418 of a limited subscribers’ hardback edition of 500 copies signed by the author, 24 pp colour plates from paintings, aquatints and hand-coloured lithographs and steel engravings (see specimen page below), very numerous other b&w illustrations from steel and wood engravings, appendix listing and giving short descriptions of artists and engravers working on the Isle of Wight, bibliography and index, 160 pp, blue boards in d/w, top edge of d/w a little creased with tiny tears, closed top edge of pages a little dust-spotted, otherwise in very good condition, Privately published by the author (Ventnor, Isle of Wight) 1989

25.9 x 17.5 cm, 860g, ISBN 0 95097 395 5

See below the description from the dustwrapper flap.  The author claims that the text runs to 30,000 words, so this is more of an illustrated history than a simple album of illustrations.

The limitation sheet is pasted to the front endpaper (see picture below).  Included loose are the original advertising card produced by the author inviting subscriptions, and the subscribers’ list giving the full 500 names of the subscribers.  The advertising card says ‘no further copies will ever be published’ of this hardback edition.
