The Miracle of Headingley ’81, illustrations from colour and b&w photographs, statistical tables in text, bibliography and index, red boards in d/w, presentation inscription on front endpaper, otherwise in fine condition, BBC Worldwide 2001, £5.00

23.3 x 15.2 cm, 630g, ISBN 0 56353 820 1

As the title implies, the most memorable sporting moment because it was the most unlikely.  A not-very-good England side pressed home a small psychological advantage, resulting in a spectacular Australian collapse.  Just before the final day of the Test, Australian fast bowler Denis Lillee actually put a £10 bet on Australia losing “because the odds were too good to miss” and won £5,000 . . . .

See the description (below) from the dustwrapper flap.

Surprisingly, still in print, but only in paperback, at £9.99.  My copy is a proper sewn hardback, rather than the all-too-common “paperback in hard covers” you see nowadays.
