A BOATLOAD OF MADMEN

Surrealism and the American Avant-Garde 1920-1950, very numerous b&w illustrations from photographs and drawings, notes, bibliography & index, xxii & 424 pp, black boards with black cloth spine, in d/w, bottom corner of pp 400-424 a little creased, edges of d/w a little curled with small tear to bottom edge neatly repaired, otherwise in very good condition, Thames & Hudson 1995

23.2 x 18.1 cm, 1190g, ISBN 0 50097 416 0

See the description below from the dustwrapper flap.  The dustwrapper itself seems to have been applied to the book a little carelessly, as the ‘blurb’ extends round the corner of the front cover.  On the other hand, the book is about surrealism, so perhaps that was intentional . . . ?

The book was also issued in paperback, but surely a book of this size and weight, to be consulted continually, should only ever be in hardback.  Both editions are now long out of print.

Talking of size and weight, this book would cost a good deal to send abroad. If you are outside the U.K. and are thinking about buying it, please email us first on enquiries@monkshillbooks.co.uk and we will quote a price for postage.
