DIVING FOR THE 'GRIFFIN'

B&w illustrations from old prints and drawings, portraits and modern photographs, maps, plan of the wreck as discovered, appendix listing the ship’s crew on its final voyage, bibliography & index, xii & 178 pp, green boards in d/w, pages browned, otherwise in very good condition, Weidenfeld & Nicolson 1990

23.2 x 15.2 cm, 530g, ISBN 0 29781 063 4

See the description (below) from the dustwrapper flap.  It was a difficult salvage operation, as the ship was found some three miles from the reef she struck, and had clearly been moved around the sea-bed by the strong currents in the area, as the artefacts were found at various different places.

This was a serious book, published at the not insubstantial price of £15.00 in 1990, so it is disappointing that the publisher used paper of such poor quality.
