GIPSY MOTH IV

A Legend Sails Again, very numerous colour photo illustrations (with a few b&w photos from the 1960s), coloured cutaway drawing, route-maps, 256 pp, black boards in d/w, base of spine a little bumped, otherwise in fine condition, Wiley Nautical (Chichester, West Sussex) 2007

24.6 x 18.4 cm, 1010g, ISBN 978 0 47072 443 9

That is, the 53-foot ketch with which Sir Francis Chichester set the record for the fastest singlehanded round-the-world voyage in 1966-7.  See the description below from the dustwrapper flap for details of the restoration and second circumnavigation in 2005-7.

Now described on the publisher’s website as “out of stock”.  We take this to mean out of print.

Beware – in order to reproduce the excellent colour photos, the publisher used heavyweight glazed paper.  The book weighs far more than its modest size might suggest, and would cost a good deal to send abroad. If you are outside the U.K. and are thinking about buying it, please email us first on enquiries@monkshillbooks.co.uk and we will quote a price for postage.
