THE CONTINUITY OF THE ENGLISH TOWN

Vol. I (New Series) Part III of the Transactions of The Ecclesiological Society, b&w illustrations from photographs and old engravings, maps, vi & pp 109-192, sewn paperback, covers browned and creased with tears at spine, closed edges of pages browned, but a good working copy, The Ecclesiological Society 1943

21.3 x 13.3 cm, 200g, no ISBN

See below the contents list. The book resulted from an exhibition on the English town mounted jointly by twelve learned societies, most of which then contributed an essay for this book. We find it quite astonishing that, at a time when we were conducting a war, these societies should have taken it upon themselves to set up such an exhibition. See also the extract from Viscount Esher’s foreword below.
