THE MAKING OF "THE AFRICAN QUEEN"

or, How I Went to Africa with Bogart, Bacall and Huston and Almost Lost My Mind, very numerous b&w photographs, map, list of photographic credits, x & 134 pp, cream cloth in d/w, small tear at top of front hinge of d/w, top of spine of d/w a little creased, otherwise in very good condition, Century Hutchinson 1987

22.7 x 17.1 cm, 590g, ISBN 0 71261 906 2

Unusually for the period, the action sequences of the film were shot on location, mostly on the Ruiki River in what was then the Belgian Congo, and on Lake Albert in Uganda.

Although the film was shot in 1951, the book was not compiled till 1987.  As you can tell from the sub-title, this is not a dry, technical account!
