VERTEBRATE ZOOLOGY

An Introduction to the Comparative Anatomy, Embryology, and Evolution of Chordate Animals, with an Introduction by Julian S. Huxley, numerous line-drawn diagrams, classification table and index, xx & 505 pp, original blue cloth with gilt prize coat-of-arms applied to front cover, presentation bookplate on front paste-down (see picture below), some foxing, mainly to margins, spine and rear edges of covers faded, corners a little rubbed, but binding good and very usable, Sidgwick & Jackson 1928

21.4 x 13.7 cm, 790g, no ISBN

Reprinted in 2012 by Ulan Press in the USA, but only in paperback, and available in this country at £20.99.

This hardback edition is far more usable, as it will open flat.

Quite why the winner of the 1930 Barry Prize for Divinity from King’s College, London should have received a book on zoology I have no idea . . . .
